Middleburg was developed in the early 1800’s as a transportation center which linked the St. Johns River with the interior of the state.  Today, it is a large unincorporated region situated northeast of the Camp Blanding  Joint Training Center in central Clay County.  Today’s landscape of Middleburg consists of rolling hills with both contemporary and ranch style homes in a more rural setting.
